Ideas for Fundraisers

Donate Your Next Milestone Moment

Turn your meaningful moment into meaningful impact. Donate your graduation, milestone birthday, or wedding. Creating a legacy of generosity is something to celebrate.

Organize a Cancer Walk or Online Walking Challenge

Hosting a walk or run to help children with cancer and their families is a great way to bring your community together. You can host an in-person walk/run or organize an online walking challenge!

"Double Dare You" Challenge

Calling all risk-takers and challenge-accepters… this fundraiser is for you! Create incentivizing giving levels to encourage donations like shaving your head when you raise $1,000! What fantastic things will you do to help kids with brain cancer?

Recognize an Awareness Month

May and September are significant months in the pediatric brain tumor community. Commit to raising funds and awareness during Brain Tumor Awareness Month or Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to honor children and families affected by pediatric brain cancer.

Fundraise at Work

Donate $10 to wear jeans on Friday, challenge departments to see who can raise the most donations in a month, or host an employee giving campaign and challenge your coworkers to make a monthly contribution.

“Give it Up” Fundraiser

Make the ultimate sacrifice and give up something you love in the name of a cure! Give up coffee, shopping, TV or anything you’re passionate about and ask donors to make daily donations to support your efforts.

Virtual Game Night

Do you have a love for board, strategy or online gaming? Livestream a DIY game night and get your closest friends to join. If you’re interested in being part of our official PBTF GameON program, we can help with that, too!

Host a Dance Marathon

Strap on your dancing shoes and grab your friends… it’s time to dance! Ask friends and family to commit to dancing for 24 hours straight in teams. This fundraiser is great for school, college, and dance groups!

Tee Off in a Golf Tournament

Partner with a local golf course, secure hole sponsors and tee off for a cure! Looking for a more unique golf event? We've helped groups organize creative golf fundraisers, too!

Virtual Tip Jar

Are you a talented musician, artist, or writer? Host a livestream or in-person event that inspires your audience to “tip” a donation for your performance, artwork, or special talent.

Online Auction

Ask local businesses to donate unique, fun experiences or items. Set up a silent auction and share your virtual fundraiser or make your auction part of a larger event.

Penny Drive

This is a great fundraiser for school and youth groups. Each class sets up donation jars and collects spare change, donations that go toward PBTF’s mission programs. The class who earns the most in donations wins a pizza party!

Host a Physical Challenge

Can you run 100 miles in a month? How many burpees can you do in a day? Challenge your friends and co-workers to a virtual or in-person physical challenge and see how far you can push yourself for a cure.

Fundraise on Social Media

Set up an Instagram or Facebook Fundraiser directly linked to your social media accounts. It’s an easy way to ask your online community to get involved and support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation's mission.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you’re looking for resources, support, or help narrowing down your fundraising ideas, contact Emily Clark at [email protected] or 470-701-5591. We’d love to talk!

Will the PBTF help me run my event?

PBTF will aid you in whatever way possible to help you achieve your fundraising goals. This will include providing fundraising resources and support.

Fundraisers are responsible for executing and planning events. We recommend creating a planning committee and asking for help from your close friends and family!

Contact Emily Clark at [email protected] or 470-701-5591 to learn more.

Can I have a raffle or auction at my event?

Federal and state laws prohibit and/or restrict certain gaming activities such as door prizes, raffles, drawings, etc. These laws vary from state to state and in different jurisdictions. Before conducting such activities as a form of fundraising, please consult with a local attorney and tax professional to ensure compliance. Please be advised that PBTF cannot provide legal or tax advice to individual fundraisers for these reasons.

Will the PBTF pay for my event?

Volunteer community fundraisers are responsible for the cost of their planned event/partnership. PBTF recommends finding sponsors to help cover costs as we cannot reimburse you for any expenses. For help creating a cost-effective fundraiser, contact Emily Clark at [email protected].

Other than costs, what else am I responsible for?

In addition to paying expenses, volunteer community fundraisers are also responsible for the planning and execution of their fundraiser, advertising their fundraiser, tracking donors and their contributions, and completing event permit and insurance paperwork. We also ask that volunteer community fundraisers adhere to PBTF’s Community and Event Guidelines.
