In addition to providing information, financial assistance and grief support, the PBTF-GA provides many other programs for families each step of the way through their journey with a brain tumor.
Being at clinic on or around a holiday can be no fun, unless you’re there when PBTF-GA hosts a holiday party. Our gatherings of patients, families, staff and volunteers are guaranteed to bring a smile with festive foods, crafts and games.
This event, like our Fishing Extravaganza and Annual Picnic, photo shoots, golf experiences and other family outings, allows our families to connect with one another to forget about treatment and doctors, and just have fun.
In addition to our own events, we are often given tickets to sporting events, theater productions, and concerts. We notify Star families of ticket availability by email. If you need to update your email address or mailing address, please contact us at 404-252-4107 or by email so you don’t miss out on special offers.
Through donations of volunteers we are able to provide our Stars with handmade pillows, pillowcases, tag blankets, and tote bags during our weekly visits to the hospital. These items give our brain tumor patients comfort while they are traveling to and from treatment.
Each day in December, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta invites local groups and organizations to donate and serve tasty holiday treats to families who are inpatient or have an appointment or chemotherapy in the clinic. The PBTF-GA is honored to partner with the hospital’s brain tumor team in this program. We also work with the social workers at CHOA and other organizations to match donors wishing to sponsor a family during the holiday season.
Many of these programs are made possible through the generosity of many groups and friends of our foundation. To learn more, email us or call 404-252-4107.
