About Starry Night Walk & 5K Run
The Starry Night 5K walk/run supports the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s efforts to help kids fighting the deadliest form of childhood cancer.
Why a 5K? Starry Night 5K is 3.1 miles, an accessible distance for walkers, teams and families and appeals to runners of all skill levels. Some Starry Night events offer a shorter distance for walkers. Check your local event page for more information!
Why do we light lanterns? Starry Night participants who raise $100 or more are invited to join Star families and other supporters in lighting the nighttime sky with hundreds of lanterns after the walk/run. This powerful ceremony celebrates our hope for a cure and shines a light on the PBTF’s Stars – the 28,000 children in the U.S. living with a brain tumor diagnosis.
How will my fundraising help? We’re on a mission to eliminate the challenges of childhood brain tumors by funding cutting-edge medical research and providing support services to children and families during their cancer journey. Check out the below video from the Illinois chapter's Starry Night to see how your participation helps Star families.
