National Director, Development Operations
Tammy Bates leads the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s development operations strategy, supporting the foundation’s fundraising operations, infrastructure, and analytics, building out platforms for improving donor stewardship and engagement, and overseeing the development and elevation of PBTF’s digital fundraising strategies, annual appeal campaigns, grants, and new revenue-generating programs.
Tammy joined the foundation in 2013 following PBTF’s merger with the Brain Tumor Foundation for Children. During her time at PBTF, Tammy has led the launch of PBTF’s Georgia Chapter and expansion to the Southeast Region, responsible for the region’s operations, financial planning, special events and public relations. Her passion for supporting patient families is born out of her own experience. Her son Brody was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2007 and passed away in 2009.
A strategic, forward-thinking nonprofit professional, Tammy brings more than three decades of business development and operations experience to her leadership efforts in identifying and partnering with companies, individual donors, and foundations. Tammy and her husband live in Atlanta and are blessed with two terrific boys Brockton and Brody (forever 8).
