National Director, Brand Strategy and Integrated Marketing
Amanda Hicken (she/her) leads the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s brand excellence, communications, and marketing strategies to increase awareness of the deadliest and most common form of childhood cancer and strengthen PBTF’s position as the world’s nonprofit leader dedicated to children and teens battling brain tumors. She brings over 15 years of digital marketing, brand communications, and strategic planning experience to her role.
Prior to joining PBTF in 2016, Amanda served as senior marketing manager at PR Newswire, a Cision company. During her 10 years at PR Newswire, her content marketing, social media, demand generation, and media and customer relations expertise boosted website traffic, audience engagement, customer retention, and revenue.
Amanda has held several leadership roles on nonprofit boards, including as chairwoman of Playhouse Square Partners, the young professionals board of the country’s largest performing arts center outside of New York. She has presented on visual storytelling and crisis communication strategy at NTEN's Nonprofit Technology Conference and the Association of National Advertisers' Nonprofit Conference.
Amanda lives in Cleveland, Ohio with her partner Scott, her daughter Amelia, and her two cats. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and English Literature from La Salle University in Philadelphia. You can connect with Amanda on LinkedIn.
