Boston’s Prudential Tower Will Shine Blue and Gold on Dec. 27 in Support of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation
PBTF's Northeast Chapter Participates in 10th Annual 31 Nights of Light
Each night in December, Prudential Tower in Boston will shine brightly with the help of local community organizations. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Northeast Chapter will flip the switch to light up Boston on December 27 as part of Prudential Center, Boston’s 10th Annual 31 Nights of Light program. The top of Prudential Tower will beam blue and gold in support of families in the region whose child has been diagnosed with a brain tumor -- blue to remember those children and teens whom we have lost to this disease and gold to honor the 28,000 pediatric brain tumor survivors throughout the United States.
The PBTF launched its Northeast Chapter earlier this year to provide on-the-ground support to local families facing a child’s brain tumor diagnosis. Pediatric brain tumor families, supporters and the public are invited to join the chapter at our “Flip-the-Switch” ceremony on December 27.
This free event starts at 4:45 p.m. and will feature a lantern-lighting, visits from some favorite princesses, a guest speaker, and other special touches to help honor local kids, recognize PBTF’s volunteers and supporters, and celebrate the new Northeast Chapter.
31 Nights of Light Flip-the-Switch Ceremony
Dec. 27, 2018
Prudential Center, Center Court
800 Boylston Street, Boston MA 02199 in Boston’s Back Bay
PBTF supporters at the event -- and across the country -- are encouraged to use the hashtags #PBTFNortheast and #31NightsofLight to participate in an interactive feature of the event. Each time someone posts on social media using those hashtags during the event, the lights on the ceremonial switch will change to let everyone know they’re helping to celebrate and spread the word.
The 31 Nights of Light program was introduced in 2009 to celebrate local Boston-area organizations and draw attention to the great work they do in Boston and beyond. Utilizing a state-of-the-art LED lighting system, the 51st floor of the Prudential Tower will change color daily to honor its 29 community partners.
