American Honda and Strategic Risk Solutions Named Starry Night National Presenting Sponsors

For more than 25 years, American Honda has partnered with the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation to fight for the future of children with brain tumors. Through their presenting sponsorship of Ride for Kids, Happy Honda Days campaigns, devoted employee volunteers and auctions of the first production Acura NSX and Honda Civic Type R, Honda’s support has been instrumental in raising awareness and funds for healthier futures.

In gratitude for their commitment to these children and families, the PBTF has named Honda a national presenting sponsor of the Starry Night 5K.

Children and teens with brain tumors are the PBTF’s Stars, and this nationwide series of evening walk/runs helps fund lifesaving research and support programs for Stars and their families.

The 2017 Starry Night season starts September 9th in Boston. Nine cities will host Starry Night events across the country, including the inaugural N.C. Triangle and Dallas/Fort Worth Starry Night 5Ks on September 30th. View the full schedule here.

Each Starry Night event includes the 5K, a children’s 50-yard dash, food and entertainment. As the sun sets after the 5K, lanterns are lit in a beautiful ceremony honoring local pediatric brain tumor survivors, remembering the children no longer with us and celebrating hope for a world without childhood brain tumors.

Strategic Risk Solutions has decided to celebrate 15 years of leadership in the Captive Management field by joining Honda as Starry Night’s second national presenting sponsor and recruiting Starry Night fundraising teams in its offices.

“Defeating the deadliest childhood cancer will take teamwork. We are incredibly grateful to American Honda and Strategic Risk Solutions for their longtime support of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and our collective vision of a world without childhood brain tumors,” says Tiffany Drummond Armstrong, the PBTF's vice president of campaign development.

As the world's leading nonprofit dedicated to fighting the deadliest childhood cancer, the PBTF’s mission is to care for families, find a cure and help survivors thrive. The support of sponsors like Honda and SRS helps the PBTF:

  • Invest in critical research. The PBTF has invested more than $29 million in research at 50+ centers worldwide over three decades.
  • Help families living with a childhood brain tumor through onsite hospital support, brain tumor family camps,  bereavement support, education and more.
  • Provide emergency financial aid to families, in partnership with 23 hospitals in 11 states.
  • Award more than 1,500 college scholarships to brain tumor survivors since 2001.
  • Offer a free resource guide for newly diagnosed families.
